in Nong Khai - the border to Laos
you can tell it's really hot when even the cat lies in front of the fan...
in the night train to the south
our first rain since 2 months
one of the lonely bays in the south of Koh Lanta
the (very dangerous) chainsaw transporter
another lonely bay which we almost had for ourselves
Edgar having fun building a dam
leaving Koh Lanta to Ao Nong
one day we made a longtail boat to a small island
barbecue in the evening on the small island
a delicious meal doesn't require a fancy kitchen
we were almost alone on Koh Chang - we were there 1 or 2 weeks before almost all bungalows close
our bungalow on Koh Chang
this Uhu was as surprised to see us as we were to see him
on Koh Chang we had our best Thai food
our bungalow had a kayak with which we went to a lonely beach one morning
sadly this is what beaches look like if they are not cleaned
we spent many hours playing Rummikub - often with the owner of the bungalows
the "bridge" on our "road" - we chickened out and turned around
this is a typical "road" on Koh Chang and it even exists in OpenStreetMap
Cashew nut (on top at the left) with its fruit
in Thailand it was apparently trendy to have a Germany sign next to the numberplate
because or train was 5 hours late and would have left at 4AM we preferred to spend one night in Chumphon
inside a food court in Bangkok
think Europeans are Smartphone addicted? Then you have not seen Asians yet... many of them had 2 Smartphones and a mobile powerpack to charge
luckily we had 4 beds so we could use 2 of them for our mess...
our favorite, very friendly fruit seller
Coconut ice with peanuts in a coconut - yummy!
as a preparation for Song Kran (the Thai New Year which is basically one big water battle) there were lots of water guns for sale everywhere
in Bangkok we decided to spend some days in a (for us) much more luxurious hotel. For 17 Euros per person we had a room, delicious breakfast buffet and - most importantly - a rooftop pool
